The Dark Knight a masterpiece

So last Friday (The 18th) I was lucky enough to see The Dark Knight. My most anticipated film of the year... and, it did not disappoint.

I knew how crazy it would be going on opening night, but I didn't care; I had to see it. They had signs on the door saying the movie was sold out. We got there an hour before it started and we were already in the halfway mark of a hug lineup in the theater.

The movie was... unbelievable. A true epic. Chris Nolan and co topped Batman Begins (and that was an excellent fucking film). Heath Ledger not only gives a performance, but he disappears completely in the role of The Joker. I've never seen such a great portrayal of the character (Not even Jack Nicholson's Joker could match it).

Aaron Eckhart played a memorable (and underrated) Harvey Dent/Two-Face. I love how he went from The White Knight of Gotham to spiraling into insanity after being scarred. I initially thought Liev Schreiber would make a better Dent, but Eckhart just shines here. My one complain is that we only see The Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) once in the film, at the beginning which equals out to be about 5 minutes of screentime. I thought we was a great character and Murphy is a great actor.

The Dark Knight is nearly three hours, and only wants you wanting more and wanting the next installment. Speaking of which, when it comes to villains. I hope they use Black Mask and/or Hush.
